Invest in Canada is looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst to support the Business Intelligence Team in guiding and informing the organization on key markets, target sectors and potential clients/investors, and is both a curious and detail-oriented individual. Reporting to the Manager, Business Intelligence, this role will identify, analyze, and evaluate geographical, economic, and industry data points in relation to foreign direct investment and synthesize their findings. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibilities for this role may include, but are not limited, to the following: 
  • Closely track, monitor, record, and update data on relevant FDI markets, industries, and sectors, as well as potential investors.
  • Prepare briefing notes and research reports to support internal business units. 
  • Prepare and update research and data for fact sheets and marketing collateral. 
  • Review, evaluate and analyze data results collected by the Business Intelligence Team through peer review, evaluative tools, and resources.
  • Collaborate with all business units to compile market information and statistics on the Canadian FDI landscape; conduct research and collect information on potential investors, etc.
  • Identify pertinent data points to support strategic research projects, conduct contextual research, and synthesize insights.
  • Coordinate and manage daily, weekly, and quarterly research tasks. 

 

Requirements:

  • Post secondary studies in Economics, Public Policy, International Affairs, or relevant program. 
  • Experience drawing relevant insights from market data and research. 
  • Expertise and/or great interest in capital markets and foreign direct investment.
  • Fluency in French considered an asset.
  • Exceptional analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in and/or experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
  • A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques. 
  • Ability to multi-task, manage tight deadlines and thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment. 
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
