Invest in Canada is looking for a Digital Officer to assist with the development and implementation of digital tactics to advance Invest in Canada’s marketing plan. Reporting to the Manager, Digital, this role will collaborate with internal and external resources to execute on the action items outlined in the digital marketing strategy and ensure all priorities are being met.

Duties and responsibilities: 

Primary responsibilities for this role may include but are not limited to the following:  

  • Develops and executes organic social media strategies to support organizational objectives including editorial plans and content calendars for all social media platforms (X, LinkedIn, Facebook. YouTube). 
  • Supports the strategy and execution of paid social media campaigns to advance Marketing objectives.
  • Develops, writes and publishes content for all Invest in Canada social media platforms in both official languages, working closely with the Manager, Digital and broader Communications teams to align on domestic and international messaging, and translators when necessary. 
  • Develops and publishes content for Invest in Canada’s website in order to drive qualified traffic, leveraging best practices for SEO and web writing. 
  • Conducts research and analysis to measure effectiveness of organic social, paid social and web strategies in order to recommend and present actionable insights to senior management. 
  • Works with designers to develop infographics, animations, ads, presentations or other relevant creative assets. 
  • Liaises with various partner networks (federal, provincial, municipal) to collaborate on campaigns, share best practices and report results on partner engagement. 

Requirements: 

  • Post secondary education in the field of Business, Commerce, Marketing, Digital or a related field.  
  • 3-5 years of technical experience managing organic and paid social media strategies, and web content.  
  • Proficiency using digital marketing tools (Hootsuite, Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, Campaign Manager, Salesforce, web CMS)
  • Excellent internal & external communication skills (written and oral).  
  • Strong organizational, analytical and project management skills. 
  • Excellent creativity and innovative skills in all aspects of design and projects. 
  • Detail oriented. 
  • Strategic thinker and ability to make recommendations while considering the impact on all of Invest in Canada’s business units.  
  • Ability to travel to Ottawa, ON twice per year for All-Staff meetings
