Invest in Canada is looking for a Regional Director, Alberta & the North to develop and execute Invest in Canada’s strategy in Alberta and the territories. Directly reporting to the Chief of Investor Services, the successful candidate will engage with federal, provincial, and municipal partners to develop and execute on new investment leads and opportunities for the province of Alberta and the territories.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities for this role may include but are not limited to the following:
- Identify, create, and develop investment leads and opportunities with both current and potential foreign direct investors.
- Connect with and engage key decision makers and stakeholders, including federal, provincial, and municipal partners throughout investment process.
- Provide excellent customer service, along the entire customer journey.
- Utilize knowledge of Alberta and the territory’s key sectors, industries, market trends, and investment opportunities to drive investments.
- Develop plans to encourage and promote foreign direct investment in Alberta and the territories.
- Establish and maintain professional interpersonal relationships with clients and key government contacts.
- Contribute to local marketing efforts and work cross-functionally to ensure alignment with IIC’s brand.
Requirements:
- Bachelor or University Degree in Commerce, Finance, Economics, International Business or in a related field.
- Graduate Degree, considered an asset (MBA, Masters of Economics, or in a related field).
- 7-10 years of related experience (business development, sales and/or marketing investment sales or similar.
- 3-5 years of management experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and an ability to communicate in a professional manner.
- Experience and familiarity using Customer Relationship Management software, considered an asset
- Fluency in both official languages, and/or multilingualism, considered an asset.
- Resides in Alberta or the Territories.
- The role requires domestic and international travel, and flexible working hours.
